GoodBye Geocities...

GeoCities, a free Web hosting service that achieved fame in the mid-90s, died Thursday at the Yahoo headquarters in Silicon Valley. GeoCities was 15 years old.

GeoCities had suffered a long and drawn-out battle with its health over the past decade. An antiquated service model and outdated technology are widely blamed for the struggle. An official cause of death, however, has yet to be determined.

I still remember my first step in the www world and it started with creating a small webpage at Geocities.com which was later modified to a complete website designed in whatever litle HTML i learned on my own and then there wer those DHTML scripts i experimented with!!!

And when i started blogging this website served as alanding page for all my blogs and soon i used the help of free URL redirection services to Flaunt my website www.passionvaibhav.co.nr

Since the day i moved to my own domain and started blogging a bit maturely, i haver never logged into Geocities but When i came across this news it made me Nostalgic about my first steps in the cyber world!!!

PC WORLD has posted a really intresting but i would have to say a bit rude {i have an emotional attachment with Geocities thats why i find it rude!!!} post about Geocities.

GOOD-BYE GEOCITIES!!!
