Google to Upgrade its Search Engine

Google's search engine will soon move to a 'Universal Search Model' and the search giant has announced its first step in that direction. According to Google, the Universal Search Model is designed to offer users a more integrated way to search for and view information online. Google has also introduced an updated homepage design and several new navigation features in the first phase of the transition.

Representatives say Google will attempt to ultimately search across all its content sources, compare and rank all the information in real time, and deliver a single, integrated set of search results. The company will incorporate information from a variety of previously separate sources including videos, images, news, maps, books, and websites into a single set of results.
